After 40 Years of Marriage

Love on the BeachWell, there it was...the Blizzard of 2016! "Blizzardzilla" as some were calling it. The tri state area was bombarded with over 2 feet of snow. State of emergency was called in all states affected and everything was shut down; schools, businesses, grocery stores, malls, everything.

My job, (I am a bartender for those of you who don't know) was cancelled Saturday due to the State of Emergency. So, when I finally got back in on my Monday shift, as usual, my regulars came in for happy hour. (This place is like Cheers, same people, same bar stools, same drinks, and they are all friends, for the most part). Two regulars in particular were having a conversation about how they made out in the storm. I over-heard this one gentleman, who sometimes comes in alone, and sometimes with his wife, who said the most wonderful things about his wife to his friend. He said, "We sat with a glass of Gran Marnier, watched the snow fall through our picture window with some soft music on, and I tell ya, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect night".
