Preparing for DC Tattoo Convention, Our First Event in 2016

DC Tattoo Convention with Fükitt Clothing

Barely 2 weeks into the new year and we are gearing up for our first event of the 2016 season! This weekend we will be at the DC Tattoo Convention. Needless to say, the kickoff to the year is always nerve-wracking because we've had a few months off to "relax" and just catch up on work.

Now, with all the preparations, packing and trying to remember everything we need for a show, after some time off, it gets to you! We think we have everything under control, then we say, "Oh no, do we have this or that", which is usually followed by, "SHIIIIIT, we are out!" or "I thought we had a lot more of those?!" Then the stress comes into play! Trying to order things we need, but not too many because we are getting a lot of "new" necessities like business cards, bags, and banners by the 2nd big convention, but still making sure we have enough and get them in time, so it's rush, rush, rush, and overnight this and overnight that and ARGH!!!!  And to boot, I think I'm getting sick! YAY FUN!!!

Geo tattoo artist with Fükitt ClothingA little craziness the next few days before we're off to work 14 hour days, but it'll be worth it in the end. We get to see our extended dysfunctional family of friends, artists, supporters and meet new faces! It seems like it's been so long since we've seen everyone, but with social media, we are able to keep up with them, but still that warm hug and handshake cannot be replaced! Like everything in life, personal contact with other people can do a body good.

Big Joel with Fükitt ClothingSo remember folks, in any hectic time in your life, I know it's hard, but try your best to find the time, even if it's 30 minutes, to put the phone down, get off the iPad, and actually TALK to someone, go visit someone, or give someone a hug. Everyone needs to stop, slow down, breathe and remember what it is to be human. I know I cannot wait to talk to everyone, and hear stories from new  and old supporters of our brand of how a simple "Fukitt" moment changed their day. Reading them in emails are wonderful, but hearing them from their mouths directly...well that's a completely different thing.

So, bring on the hugs, stories and laughter! We're ready and eager to start this year off right!!! See ya in DC!!!
